Golf Business News - TrackMan Teed-Up At Blairgowrie

Golfers around the globe will soon be teeing-up on The Blairgowrie Golf Club’s championship courses without setting foot in Perthshire.

But club managing secretary, Stuart Wilson (pictured) is confident they will want to enjoy Rosemount and Lansdowne for real after sampling the latest virtual golf technology.

The club has invested in TrackMan Range technology at the Carsie driving range which was created in advance of hosting the Junior Ryder Cup in 2014.

“Blairgowrie is at the forefront of private members’ clubs in the country, and we are delighted to partner with TrackMan to provide another facility for members and visitors to enjoy,” said Stuart.

“An indoor simulator had been under consideration, but it was felt the investment should go into the TrackMan Range product, as it will be used by many more people throughout the year.

“TrackMan were keen to work closely with us. Rosemount and Lansdowne have already been mapped so both courses will become available to play in digital form on the simulator.

“Pebble Beach and Royal Troon have just been added on for our members to access and people across the world will be able to play our courses and hopefully come here to try out Rosemount and Lansdowne for real.

“We have installed four screens in the covered bays and our professionals are using the portable Trackman unit in the teaching bay for lessons.

“Sessions are booked through the pro shop so there is no cash payment at the range.

“We are also extending the adjacent grass tees, and adding Huxley artificial turf for use outwith the growing season so we can have 15 golfers on logging into the TrackMan app on their phone or iPad.”
